PROJECT: HERO has a premise and central question that, for the super-heroic world, is a loooong time in the making: namely, just HOW do the heroes manage to survive financially and still function as crime-busters? This seemingly mundane question is the springboard for a very original, fresh, and fun adventure story, reminiscent of the old-school "GIANT-SIZE" Marvel and DC Comic Book Specials of the 1970s - an era where a greater sense of realism peacefully co-existed with the sheer fun of the fantasy, just-go-with-it feeling of the genre. Starting from its fresh-and-grounded-in-the-real-word premise, PROJECT: HERO proceeds to take us on a team-up adventure filled with analogues of classic DC and Marvel heroes, including Captain America, Batman, Martian Manhunter, Mister Fantastic, and The Flash.
Told with warmth, humor, self-awareness and action, PROJECT: HERO successfully sets up a series of adventures for a new, but comfortingly-familiar, group of super-heroes.
